Finnleo was founded in September 14, 1984 in Cokato, Minnesota, where we continue to call home. Cokato's rich Scandinavian history, engaged workforce, and supportive community make this a great location for our US-based manufacturing. 

As a division of Sauna360, we also have manufacturing locations in Sweden and Finland. With direct ties to Scandinavia and the profound Finnish roots present in Cokato, we're surrounded by Nordic authenticity. It's believed that there are more saunas than cars in Finland, and we'd be willing to bet Cokato is the only US city to come close to those numbers. 

Rich, robust history

Finnleo is a division of Sauna360, a world leader in the sauna and steam industry, with a history dating back to 1916. The original company, Kastor, was the first Finnish sauna brand, established in Vyborg, Finland. Finnleo was established in 1984, bringing Finnish sauna to the US and quickly became North America's pure sauna specialist. For over 100 years our family of companies has been bringing innovation in heaters and sauna design to sauna enthusiasts around the world.

This purposeful innovation is important to us. Intuitive fine tuning of the sauna experience is as essential as the build quality of our products. We continue to trailblaze the sauna industry and add new dimensions in modern sauna solutions. We are proud to have introduced many firsts, including North America’s first sauna control (SaunaLogic2) with true worldwide mobile functionality, and our BioWater Technique, which is the only multilayered sauna heater experience on the market.

Outdoor Living Without Compromise

Our outdoor collection is a balance of traditional design recreated in modern materials. The coastal communities of the eastern seaboard have molded our aesthetic, while material advancements have allowed us to create a product that can withstand the elements. Our products are designed to endure the corrosive seaside air, a New England winter, or an Arizona heat wave. In short, we handcraft furniture that looks great, is easy to maintain, and can be left outdoors from one season to the next.

Recycled Material and Sustainability

Seaside Casual furniture is made from Envirowood, an all weather marine grade recycled HDPE polymer - the kind found in milk jugs. Our furniture is essentially a maintenance-free product. Our HDPE material is non-porous and resistant to moisture, fading, insects, splinting, warping and other hazards of environmental exposure common to wood and wood fiber composite products.

Customers concerned about the environment can feel confident they have made a good decision by purchasing our products. Unlike other types of resin and polymers, HDPE is the most environmentally stable, giving off no harmful fumes. Our products are designed to hold up to all kinds of adverse weather conditions for decades.

Environmental Stewards

Our twelve acre 100,000 square foot facility provides the template for sound environmental stewardship. Since the purchase of our
state of the art facility in 2007, we have continually strived to find areas needing improvement, and work towards making it better.
We have reduced and reclaimed thousands of tons of corrugated cardboard, wood debris and other recyclable material, previously moved into the waste stream, and have either repurposed, recycled or reduced our reliance on them. We also work on efficiencies that have already dropped our utility consumption by double digits, and we will continue to work on responsible energy conservation.

We prioritize repairability and ease of maintenance. We believe that a product's longevity depends on its ability to be maintained and adapt to current trends. We make it a priority to provide spare parts and offer a wide choice of stylish replacement fabrics that are easy to replace at affordable prices.

Repairing a product is cheaper than constantly replacing a poor-quality product, and it conserves natural resources. Every product can also be dismantled easily to facilitate sorting at the end of its product life, and some do not even require tools.

This approach helps to supply the recycling sector with different materials, and every year we procure more recycled materials for manufacturing.

Our commitment to responsible manufacturing extends to limiting energy consumption in our production facilities, optimizing our use of resources, and reducing our waste.

We have redesigned and optimized our surface treatment tunnel, decreased our consumption of water and gas, and implemented automatic filtering systems to recycle water and filtration concentrate.

Our production waste is entirely recovered and recycled, and we continuously evaluate and improve our workstations to reduce noise pollution and promote good health for our employees.

We also prioritize responsible packaging and shipping practices, designing packaging to withstand shipping methods and optimizing shipment volumes and weights. All cardboard packaging is made of 100%-recycled materials, and our plastic packaging is 100% recyclable.

By planning and forecasting our needs, we can optimize delivery vehicles for every destination using load consolidation and optimization at our logistics hub.

We value the safety and well-being of our employees and understand that they are crucial to our success. We invest in our employees by providing them with training programs, medical coverage, and ergonomic workstations.
